Pet rabbits are not difficult to look after, but they do need commitment from you to give them a safe environment to live in, keep their living area clean, provide the correct food and fresh water every day and to spend time with them and play with them.
A pet rabbit is a big responsibility, as they can live for 8-12 years or more, and rely on you to look after them.
Accomodating Your Pet Rabbit
Pet rabbits can live indoors or outdoors; when choosing where your rabbit will live, you should consider the rabbit’s safety, health and happiness as well as how you want to interact with your pet rabbit.
A pet rabbit that lives in the house is more likely to get to spend time with you, and you will also get to know your rabbit’s personality better than if it lives outside.
hi , i was wondering once u have got a rabbit from a pet shop do u have to give it any jabs or medication
Hi Ella
If you are in the UK, I would recommend pet rabbits are taken to a vet for vaccinations against myxomytosis and VHD. The vaccinations should be done regularly (usually every 6 months to 1 year depending the vaccine used). These diseases are not as common in many other areas of the world, and vaccinations are not available, including in the USA.
If you get a rabbit from a rescue centre, the rabbit may have already had these recently.
The vet will also be able to give the rabbit a quick general health check to make sure everything is ok.
ok thankyou well how much will it cost
In the UK, these vaccinations usually cost around £20 – £25 each.
THANKYOU!!! we’re now getting a rabbit because u have explained everything we need to know
